Sawmill Sunday: A day on the farm Milling North Carolina White Oak

What happens here

Begin by starting the Wood-Mizer LT40 hydraulic sawmill. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to activate the machine. The digital display will show the operating hours, in this case, 36.0 hours. Allow the Kohler engine to start and warm up. Before commencing cuts, remove the protective cover from the band wheel housing to access the blade. Adjust the blade tension using a wrench while monitoring the pressure gauge to ensure optimal cutting performance. Once the tension is set, replace the protective cover.

Goal: Prepare the sawmill for operation by starting it, checking and adjusting the blade tension.
