Sawmill Sunday: A day on the farm Milling North Carolina White Oak

What happens here

Once the log is squared into a cant, adjust the sawmill's settings to the desired lumber thickness for individual boards. With the cant securely clamped, make passes with the sawmill blade to cut off boards one by one. After each cut, remove the newly sawn board from the sawmill bed, inspecting it for quality. Continue this process until the entire cant has been converted into boards. The resulting boards can then be stacked for drying or further processing.

Goal: Cut the squared cant into individual boards of desired thickness.
