Stoney Ridge Farmer

What happens here

This video demonstrates a clever solution for operating ball valves installed deep in the ground. It involves modifying the valve's handle by bending it upwards and then fabricating a custom long-reach tool from repurposed materials to easily turn the modified valve, addressing an accessibility challenge on a farm.

folks know when you have a farm you've got property you're doing projects like i do here on the stoney ridge farm you need to think outside the box sometimes so outside the box thinking each one of my water tanks and water areas is going to have a valve that valve will be set down in the ground approximately 20 to 24 inches this is a ball valve this would normally be down like this so i took this and i put it in my vise and bent it upright now i can reach down in the hole and get a hold of this and i don't need all that clearance however it's hard to turn like that so i came up with this concept so i found a piece of old roof rack that was laying around the farm and i squished the end down i painted it i put some reflective tape so i didn't lose it and this will be what i use to turn this valve it simply fits right in there and turns the valve awesome what do you guys think stay tuned for the video
