What happens here

Before installing, compare the new Kohler flush valve kit (RQP1188998) and the Silent Fill Valve Kit (GP1083167) with the old components to ensure compatibility. The video notes that despite warnings about non-universal fit, the 2-inch flush valve with a 3-inch canister is practically identical to the old one, differing only in an included gasket. This confirms the new parts are suitable replacements. The fill valve also came with various flow restrictor inserts, but the old one was gray, so the gray insert will be used.
