Restoring an old axe
What happens here
Carefully insert the oiled wooden handle into the eye of the polished axe head. Once seated, use a hammer to drive a metal wedge into the top of the handle, expanding the wood inside the axe head for a secure fit. After the wedge is set, trim any excess wood protruding from the top of the axe head using a reciprocating saw.
Goal: Securely attach the axe head to the new handle.
