Prepare for Retexturing and Painting

What happens here

After the spackle has dried completely and has been smoothed (if additional sanding was required), the area is ready for final finishing. If your ceiling has a textured finish, you'll want to apply spray texture to the repaired area to match the surrounding surface. Once the spray texture is dry, the entire ceiling area should be primed and then painted to ensure a uniform and flawless appearance.
