folks before we get started with this video if you're interested in picking up a fence post driver for your farm or your fence contractor contact Luke with farm fence solutions Luke at farm fence solutions comm and he can get you all set up with one of these hand-built machines very very nice pro tect hand-built machines right here in the UK awesome enjoy the video hey folks this is Josh Stoney Ridge farmer we are at Pro tech machinery here in Gloucestershire England we are going to go through the factory here we're going to show you how these cool machines work these are probably machines for building fences that you've never seen before we're going to show you models that run around on tracks right we're going to show you models that are remote control models that run off of GPS to build fences and these are the kind of fences that you would fence your cows in also fences that would run alongside highways fences that would run alongside railways and Luke here is gonna help us build our fence here on the farm so come along on the farm blog today we're going to show you a cool factory over in worcester sharp luster shine Gloucestershire England give me a good time guys woo [Music] you [Music] so guys let me tell you we got off a plane about 24 hours ago and we have been run and run and running we finally made it out of London to a beautiful place out here in the country you're gonna see some countryside here I was gonna bring the drone over so we could fly over the countryside and see some stuff but I don't think drones are really too popular right now in Europe I think they're pretty much frowned upon and illegal so we didn't want to get arrested but we're out here on the yard and this is where a bunch of the spare parts are kept for assembly here and these machines are made with a tubular frame all these parts are laser-cut it's all welded together so we'll take you first inside the area where they make the frame for the machine we're kind of getting a look at something that you'd never ever get to see if it wasn't for us going over here and I'd never get to see there's mrs. Stoney Ridge by the way I'd never get to see this stuff if I hadn't started a YouTube channel it's just SuperDuper awesome to be able to go experience all this stuff they've got some machines set up for us for demo out here you can see these guys kind of way off right over there they've got some machines set up for demo this is one of the machines that you put on a three-point hitch to put behind a tractor so kind of the way I'd like to describe these machines is like a skid steer on steroids that's absolutely specifically built just for building fences and pounding posts let's go in here real quick this is one of the machines it's almost complete so you can see all these hydraulic controls right here and we'll talk a little bit more about that a little bit later this is the post driver system and this is the track system that this thing runs on now it runs on a little 26 horsepower yanmar diesel engine really really cool and you can see there's more room for more stuff and we'll talk about that a little bit later we'll show you the machine that we can drive remote control super cool so this is the cradle or the mounting system for the hydraulics and the engine in all of the parts that drive the machine you can see hydraulic arms right here so that they can widen the track out or shrink the track down so in other words for putting it in the trailer they will draw this side of the track in right here and you could drive it up on the trailer this is the system underneath here that holds everything in place very very cool very interesting pretty much like a track skid steer now these tracks are very robust very tough tracks so the reason we're really here is some that we can show you guys the fencepost driver that we're gonna have on our farm when we get ready to start building our fences it's going to be cool we'll also have one of these track machines out here so you can watch it work so if it's your first time to the channel con that like button subscribe the channel so you can watch this huge fencing video series we're getting ready to start we're gonna have the most comprehensive fencing video series on the Internet we're going to take you to the factory that builds the machines we're going to take you to the factory that makes the wire and we're going to show you how to build the fence so let's go over and get geeked out on a few other pieces of machinery here I'm inside the shop now I don't think I need my sunglasses so what you just saw was the mast system raising up this is a 350 kilogram or 770 pound post pounder right here it has some little spikes in it we'll get a close-up of that but this is what drives the post it's the post driving mast right here it's all hydraulic driven if we walk around on the other side you can see there are ropes up there I asked why are using ropes instead of cables because the ropes last longer and they hold more away interesting so I guess if it was a cable and it was going up and down like that it would wear much quicker than the rope and the Rope is easier to replace pretty awesome now we're going to take you outside here we're going to show you the ones that mount up to the three-point system on the tractor they have several of these models that are set up for different sized horsepower tractors and we're going to take you out and show you a fully automated system that runs off GPS really cool and we're going to drive the remote control into I love big kid toys man awesome all right guys so we're with Andy and N is gonna take us through how the p200 machine works here and this is the one that we're gonna have on our farm hi ladies and gentlemen this is a P 200 s this is a good mid-range machine ideally for a three point linkage on the tractor or we can load a mount it as well this machine is very versatile it's got the 120 degrees to on it so basically it'll work around the side of the tractor or you can 120 so you can work into that plane on the other side and then wherever that slew arm is you've got a 300 mil of telescopic travel so this is a telescopic Ram there and that can just boom out then so that's giving you a side shift down the fence line or if you're trying to back into an awkward corner it gives you the telescopic boom out that way it has the mast tilt both ways so wherever that slew arm is it can angle adjust in both directions so if you're working on soil and ground or awkward ground or you want to put the post in a bit of an angle and you've got all that movement and control it can also act when you're trying to level up the post if it's when you're driving in it can move out you can upright the post for that one it also has the a hydraulic mast leg that's a good feature on the machine that's basically if the linkage is right up on the tractor you can power the leg right down and it takes the whole machine stable and it also gives you extra height when you first start driving the post and it's created stability this machine comes with a 240 kilo weight and the gripper plate we can also do it there's a guard to go on there but the 240 kilo hammer is a good sort of sized hammer when you put into a 6 to 8 inch posts in there and then the plate there on the bottom that has three locating spikes so that's it's in the top of the wood post we have made different plates that can wrap around as well but that plate holds the post and then you just drive the weight on top of the plate and where you go on this machine it can have the option of a rock spike this is a rock spike or ice spike or stone spike whatever you want to call it and you'll you'll swing that around in to work so you lift your weight and your grip and plate up you'll swing the spike round in and then you drive this spike and it'll go in that depth in the ground so it can make an ideal pilot hole then maintenance wise it's very simple the ropes are easy to maintain just a new rope fit on that it's greasable at the top of the pulleys as well so you can grease grease those and on the main pivot points everything that's grease will on every pivot point and it's bushed on all the main pivot point it's a good lightweight machine then so it'll suit anything from sort of 50 250 horsepower tractors so if you're a little unclear as to the black spike right here this is designed in case you hit a rock so a lot of times you'll be working in icy or rocky soil and this will knock a pilot hole down in the ground so your pilot hole would be knocked in the ground by this apparatus right here and then there's a hydraulic cylinder that would just pull it right back out of the ground and that's in case you're driving your post all of a sudden you get into a pinch or you know that there's rock or frozen ground you can drill a pilot hole and knock it down a whole lot easier and a whole lot safer without tearing up your machine this rope is really interesting it's a very very hard heavy-duty rope right here and again relatively inexpensive to replace if you ever had to replace it and then we're telling me that this rope could last as long as 15 years maybe even 20 years if you store them indoors it lasts a long long time something really wonderful that we've gotten to see over here is the English countryside so as soon as we got into England we flew into London and all I could think about was getting the heck away from all those people that is an oak tree that's down out there in that field they've had a lot of wind and a lot of rain and the soil over here is a very clay like in other words it has that gray clay almost like modeling clay so this land is only good for pasture grazing it's not good for row crops beautiful beautiful countryside though now we're gonna go out here and the proving ground and we're gonna show you how some of these fence post machines work and I'm gonna try to get mrs. Stoney ridges to drive the remote control and it's gonna be awesome alright so this is the Evo protec compact this one's small enough to fit on the back of a trailer to be pulled with a half-ton pickup in the US or in the UK they can pull it with a small SUV there are a lot of restrictions on hauling these pieces of machinery in the UK you can't be over a certain weight to pull with a non mercial type vehicle so we're going to go ahead and fire it up here turn the key on hit it fire it up little diesel engine here easy simple controls idle up idle down a little switch we're gonna idle it up we're going to go over here to the controllers I'll show you how it works we have six controllers right here and this is our drive this drives one side of the track this drives the other side of the track very simple there is a platform on the ground here we're going to raise that platform up and we're going to drive our mast inwards so that we bring our center of gravity closer to the machine and we'll drive it around a little bit this is my first time really operating this machine so bear with me we're learning all the controls just like so bring our leg up just a little ways and we're actually going to swing it out let's see here this is the slew arm just like so now we're going to drive so forward very easy to drive this is a walk behind machine they're coming out with a Evo three which is a cab machine if I want to go to the left I just push the right track a little further and I can go to the left vice versa I can push it that way driving this is similar to driving a skid steer or zero turn mower if you lock one track in place and you spend that other track you're going to be tearing up your property gonna be tearing up the grass but if you can smoothly operate this machine keep one track moving as the other track drives around you won't tear up the grass so bad very important especially if you're working in a man's field [Music] so guys if your wife is out helping you build your fits and you need a little extra hand you got one right here very very simple to operate very fun to operate really all right good cool guys this is the Evo compact the Evo one will be the machine that we have at my farm and you get to see this thing in action totally in action right here so we're going to go ahead and move this arm just a little bit show you a few things that we do we're going to bring the mass out just a little bit and it'll rotate out so you can get it into any position that you want to get it into you have to watch this little foot right here make sure it doesn't damage the equipment so we bring it out to where we want it bring our leg down here I get some machine a little bit more stable there is a bar on the front that we can also drop to set it down to get the machine completely stable and then we'll run the driver up and down now we can't run the driver because this one has the auger attachment on it but it simply unbolts moves around and you can use the driver pretty cool and we'll go ahead we'll shut it down there's an emergency shutoff right here or we can just go over here idle it down simple as that shut it off awesome now let's go see the cool one so this is the Evo 2 prototype right here and this is a remote control system they've agreed to let me drive it around a little bit so this is going to be pretty fun what we're going to do is we're going to go ahead we're going to put a post in with the little grabber system I'd forget exactly what you call it but with the grabber roller system we're going to grab up a post now once this prototype is complete you'll be able to basically hit a button and it'll run and gun you just have to supervise what's going on and load the post in but it will put the post exactly where you want it in a perfect straight line with GPS it's gonna be super awesome it'll even drive the post to whatever height you want them to be driven by GPS if you want to post a six five feet out of the ground it'll drive it to five feet out of the ground release and move on to the next post really really cool this is the remote control system and we're going to give it a shot here so first thing we're gonna do is get a post in here we'll raise this post up we're just gonna drive out here and we're gonna put this post in the ground here's how we drive just the same as the other all the controls the little hand controls actually move as I'm working this controller so it's pretty neat pretty interesting very sensitive and very fun and that was backwards so you hear it bogging down a little bit we want to rpm up so there's just a switch here that I can click rpm down bring the RPMs up and drive really neat I'm standing ten yards from the machine okay so we're gonna stand this far away from this machine and we're going to go ahead and drive the post okay you can see right here this little dip switch is what control is the post driver we're going to move it up and down real slow there we go raise it back up bring our telescope in we're good to go I'm gonna go ahead and bring all the weights down on this thing so you'll slowly drop just like so and we'll drive away pretty cool so in a field type situation like this will hide along down in the field situation like this you would just drive to the next post and you just load up another post and drive it in the ground this is some really awesome machinery I'm SuperDuper excited that I got to show it to you guys today this is always everybody's favorite part of every video is getting together and do them it's just like a family thing so we got the kids here everybody's out it's Saturday afternoon they're getting ready it's quittin time and we're out of here thanks a lot for watching this video today I really enjoyed taking you somewhere special be sure you click that like button subscribe to the channel we're going to take it to the fence wire factory next we're also going to visit a youtuber here in the UK that has a dairy farm so it's gonna be super cool guys thanks a lot for watching we'll see you next time on the Stoney Ridge farm all right [Music] Pierce we've had some ways opposed to me stone Tyrion whoo both levers forward drives it forward both levers back drives it back you want to easily be moving forward while you so you got to watch and walk with it okay all right so thank you go ahead with it you want to make sure when you're driving you keep each track moving the whole time so that you're not twisting and turning the grass up so now let's back up a little bit so it'll pull them back very gently there you go and back it back the other ways it's gonna be the opposite you know Haga [Music] very very simple to operate very fun to operate really all right good so today's bonus footage and in most videos after the credits I do a little bit of bonus footage so you guys can see a little bit more the area where I met back in here are a bunch of sheep and sheep are pretty much what's raised over here this isn't really cattle country it's more sheep country so they're raised for their wool and over here we have some mobile chicken tractors and we've got chickens looks like this guy has an egg production operation and a little sheep farm next door let's get some footage of the Sheep one really nice thing about filming in the UK is I can film these sheep and not get shot at because nobody has any guns so guys this is our first time to the UK most fences or fence lines and Road edges have a hedge of very thick hedge I don't know what the purpose is I'm gonna have to ask and learn a little bit and if I do learn I'll let you guys know but their hedges everywhere so pretty much if you look back over these fields the discerning line the discerning property line is either a fence or a hedge that's a big ol hedge right there I don't know what kind of hedges they are but they lose their leaves in the winter time and they're really really thick so I don't even think a sheep he'd get through that if they could get through the fence that's one thing then it had to fight its way through the hedge pretty cool
