QUICK TIP FOR A KITCHEN SINK DRAIN THAT IS LEAKING!

okay so you see that water running down there that is not good hey folks that fix the guy here and today we're going to be looking at a lake between the basket strainer and your tubular pipe this metal nut right here has a plastic washer that sometimes no matter how tight you try it still has got a leak well i've got a simple fix for you today so come along let's get to fixing [Music] [Applause] this right here is totally dripping and if you guys have ever put new drain together or you end up running into a leak right here at this nut and it's all the way tightened well i've got a little tip for you okay here's what we're gonna do we're gonna take some of this mega lock this stuff is a multi-purpose thread sealant and it's good for metal plastic gas line and this will actually just help with this right so if we pop this apart hold on let me grab my channel locks here get that apart okay so you undo this to drop this down you might have to come over here and loosen these up a little bit just to give yourself a little play so then you can drop that down a little bit to pop this out but what i like to do is actually just take this and put some mega lock around it right so just grab a little bit doesn't have to be a lot you don't need a lot on this and just go right around the bottom of it and then a little bit right around the top okay and so make sure you tighten up anything else that you undone in my case it was the garbage disposal drain okay and so then just take this you can go to hand tight grab your channel locks and just snug this up again and then we'll test oh yeah looking good fill up the drain real quick and give it a drain all right this stuff will totally help you from time to time especially if you're having leaks on things like this all right all right folks i hope you found this video helpful remember mega lock man this stuff is great i'll put a link in the description box below if you guys like the channel please subscribe click that like button we'd love to have you keep coming back we're just trying to help and we hope that we're doing that thank you very much and we'll see you again real soon
