Pavers-Mastering the basics

What happens here

The first step is to establish the desired grade and depth for the paver installation. Use a string line to mark the intended path or patio area. The string line serves as a reference for the final height of the pavers. Measure the current depth from the string line to the existing ground. The goal is to achieve an excavated depth that allows for a minimum of 6 inches of compacted base material, plus the thickness of the pavers and a thin layer of bedding sand. The video shows measuring depths of around 5 inches, indicating further excavation is needed.

Goal: Set up a string line to define the paver area and measure the current depth to determine how much more excavation is required.

okay we got our class five back here next step i'm gonna run this string line way back up there by the mini x it's right here so we're gonna match the pavers for the path are gonna we're gonna match the top of the stairs here obviously so we're gonna run that right here then we're gonna go along with the handy dandy tape measure and check our depths we're gonna have to come down quite a bit still it looks like nine inches which we are definitely not six it's gonna be like two three so yeah we need to take six to seven inches out of uh most of this still there's gonna be a lot of dirt coming out of here
