Paver Patio [EPIC DESIGN] - Vlog 7

What happens here

After laying a portion of the pavers, the client requests a color change, deeming the 'Oceanic Blue' pavers too blue and preferring a more monochromatic grey look. As a result, the crew has to painstakingly remove all the recently laid pavers. The removed pavers are discarded into a dumpster for recycling, as re-palletizing and reusing them is not cost-effective due to the cuts already made. The new color chosen is 'Granite City', a pure grey paver that will match the existing mosaic details in the patio.

Goal: Remove existing pavers and prepare for new color installation.

Tools and materials

  • Dumpster — Collecting discarded pavers for recycling
  • Skid Steer Loader Kubota — Loading discarded pavers into a dumpster
  • Granite City Pavers — New pavers to be installed, matching a monochromatic grey scheme
  • Oceanic Blue Pavers Nickloc — The pavers that were removed due to color preference

All right. You might be thinking, papa's going in the wrong direction. We're taking them up. That's exactly what we're doing. We got almost all of it laid, but uh you know what? Things happened. Client decided after sanding it down, they really didn't like the color. It was a little too blue and uh they wanted something more gray. So, we got a couple hundred square feet. All the oceanic blue is coming up and uh we're replacing it with Granite City. So, it's going to be more more monochromatic a little bit. It's going to match the mosaic here. That's Granite City. So, uh hey, is what it is. Want to make the clients happy. That's what we do here at Premiere. So, uh a little hiccup, little bit of a delay, but uh tried to jump on as quick as possible. We've got a dumpster here. Get rid of it. Um, all this stuff will be recycled. It goes and uh gets turned into recycled concrete. So, it's not going in the landfill or anything. But, uh, you might be wondering, why don't you save it? It's just a lot of work to try to repalitize this stuff, move it, save it for another job. So, and there's a lot of cuts already made. Unfortunately, it's going in the dumpster. It's getting recycled. and uh we'll relay something new. But we decided since you know what, we're going to be relaying something uh we're going to add in another cool detail. So, let's get this moved so we can get back to work. [Music]
