Patio loading 😎…..#hardscape #hardscaper #patio #patiodesign #outdoorliving #designandbuild

What happens here

After the initial excavation, the sub-base (the compacted native soil or imported fill below the aggregate base) is roughly spread and leveled. The compact utility loader can be used for the initial spreading, followed by manual raking and shoveling to achieve a relatively even surface. A plate compactor, such as a Wacker Neuson model, is then used to compact this sub-base layer, creating a firm and stable foundation for the subsequent aggregate layers.

Goal: Create a compacted, stable sub-base for the patio.

Tools and materials

  • Bucket Attachment — Attached to the compact utility loader for spreading material
  • Compact Utility Loader Ditch Witch SK — Initial spreading of sub-base material
  • Plate Compactor Wacker Neuson — Compacting the sub-base and aggregate layers
  • Rakes — Spreading and leveling sub-base material
  • Shovels — Fine-tuning sub-base leveling
