Patio loading 😎…..#hardscape #hardscaper #patio #patiodesign #outdoorliving #designandbuild

What happens here

The project begins with initial excavation and rough grading of the area adjacent to the existing deck. A compact utility loader, like a Ditch Witch SK series mini skid steer, is used with a bucket attachment to remove existing topsoil and create the desired initial contours for the patio space. Workers may use a string line and stakes or a laser level with a receiver to guide the excavation depth and ensure proper slope for drainage.

Goal: Remove topsoil and establish the initial grade for the patio area.

Tools and materials

  • Bucket Attachment — Attached to the compact utility loader for digging and moving earth
  • Compact Utility Loader Ditch Witch SK — Excavating and moving soil, spreading materials
  • Laser Level with Receiver — Precisely checking and setting grade
  • Rakes — Spreading and leveling soil
  • Shovels — Fine-tuning grading and moving smaller amounts of soil
  • String Line and Stakes — Establishing and maintaining grade lines
