OFF Grid Greenhouse for the Homestead! 4K

yes all right [Music] so no damage I didn't have such a good start trying to unload the greenhouse off the truck well here let me just show you what happened it says glass handles care I'm assuming it's gone these are the nice panels because a lot a lot of the cheap greenhouses have just plastic just one layer of plastic this has multiple layers of so you can actually [Music] so our plan is to put in a hand pump well and then build the greenhouse around the area where the well is so that the well eventually ends up inside of the greenhouse so you can to see us doing a little bit of ball but in the background you can see that I'm prepping the building pad for the greenhouse yes okay okay okay okay okay I'll be so excited gonna run all over everything and all over everything [Laughter] good morning Thomas good morning Frankie important so after the walls it's the roof yeah I had a feeling I was gonna haul all the roof panels over and put them in the middle but no I think you did right yeah [Music] so you clamp the walls together to screw them together yeah and we're just we're just putting this on green treated on the ground is the entire framework made out of green treated Frankie that's what it looks like to me yeah what I do when we get this all done I put little shims underneath it keep your space or anything and you can still put black and you can still backfill dirt against there because then air would get underneath your bottom plate and wouldn't ride as fast because they will rock Green Green Tree will still rot yeah yeah you know if it sets in the ground constantly like that and in here I would imagine it's going to be wet and you know because the heat and everything you know so [Music] what is it Frankie three foot measure four foot and then it should be five foot in between so three four through ninety corner to get a night a 90 Corner okay three four and five so that's what you're doing yeah setting your night your Corners to 90. and we're pretty much at our 90 now okay and if our wall is leaning out we'll just have to just take a shovel we'll shoot we'll shave some dirt underneath that I think it's highway right there's all because uh we'll start at that end we'll just come our way back again foreign [Music] so this is made by the same people that we got our over easy chicken coop from this is their Greenhouse it's actually a hundred percent Amish built made in the USA and it uses Southern yellow pine this is a resistant against rot and termites it's the same stuff that they build roller coasters and boardwalks out of all of the components are hand milled sanded and cut and this is a completely modular design and it went together without a single issue I highly recommend these guys to you guys if you're going to be building your own greenhouse and want a stuff up in a greenhouse this might be it for you there it is [Music] foreign [Music] so it's hot it's hot yeah it is hot in here it's gonna get hotter yeah and that's with airflow why is that a good time it's gonna extend our growing season yeah if it's this hot now it's gonna stay warmer in September and October and November when you want it to be at warmer right yeah regular phones a lot of money that's their income is growing there's a greenhouse big really yeah really it was Tiny yeah just uh there's some pallet tables around there's two two levels of pallet tables what do they use them for just starting plants yeah yeah plants to put out in the field okay so the plan is we have the well in the greenhouse so we can get water in the middle of winter yeah potentially without fighting snow but what was it yeah this won't get Frozen and we won't have to like unshavel it all the time um yeah so I also would love to take a shower or a bath and ideally with hot water and there's all of Frozen Tundra land so I guess if you guys have any ideas comment below let us know please she is looking for ideas bumpers but you know I've got a type of thing we're gonna put a wood stove in here I think so we can be able to get hot water and dump it into a bathtub that's mostly my idea so then the idea is clawfoot tub wood burning stove heat water up on the wood burning stove dump it in the bathtub then you've got hot water yep winter summer you tell me what would you do here's the space it's 8 by 36. so big and long and skinny I think it'll be cool especially with a bunch of plants in here it'll feel like a jungle hallway all of a sudden or something you know at least that's the goal earlier I said these were modular well they come in eight by eight sections you can only go eight foot wide but you can go 16 foot long 24 foot long 32 foot long any in this case we went 36 foot long so you can create a greenhouse that will fit your needs with this design [Music] oh there it is she's all wrapped up and we did a couple of extra things and you guys tell me what you think of them I'll show you about them in a minute now it's not done you know finish detail cast has actually went and got her free hot free tub three bathtub free cast iron bathtub just a bathtub so we got the well right there so you can take shower our tubs in here yeah that's the plan so I'm gonna heat up some water over the fire or a stove or something like hat like one bucket of hot water one cold like a natural Hot Springs and and it's in the greenhouse so we can do that in the winter too what is your plan in here I want to make like a plant dojo just a super cool whole planet area grow as much as I can fit in here you know I thought maybe stick in a cabinet right here for a workbench not a hot upper just a lower cabinet then you can put your water on it and then you could put all your plants because I see you're already bringing your plants in but you do you I don't care I just I'm just glad to see it to this point yeah big yeah maybe you know we get crowded bath area here and then plants that way I also just want plants everywhere you know so Frankie did add some x-rays that did not come and so you see these supports right here that's Frankie's doing because we get a snow up here yeah and it's not this isn't like super look at the bottom it's kind of shimmy and stuff it's not oh you don't you don't have her secured yet which is something you guys got to do I think all we have to do is like um dig or fill it in with dirt I mean sand which we've got we've got plenty of and in these supports you can also hang plants off from them so that's yeah definitely that's really cool yeah and then you want wine and it just spreads the Sun out the whole thing so the sun is technically hitting right there but you go on the other side of the greenhouse and there's this like distinct line I can see it right here oh holy buckets yeah and it goes all the way down so it's spreading I mean I've never had a greenhouse before it's just really it's just really cool Cass and I are both in here squinting we're like fun it's hard to exist in here during the day at least but it was nice last night it got really freaking cold outside like I was shivering yeah but then I come in here and it's like 10 it feels like 10 degrees warmer so I think it'll be really good for plants and stuff oh I bet yeah I like that and once we get some solar panels installed we're gonna get a couple solar panels installed we'll be able to get this fan working and get some ventilation in here we got one solar panel running outside right now I this was an over e Greenhouse made by the same company that makes our over easy chicken coop yeah it's pretty cool they're doing they're doing really great things in the world yeah and this is no chicken coop and cream s this is no cheesy Greenhouse this is actually pretty strong oh yeah it's nice yeah this is not one of them flimsy poles with plastic over the top of them kind of a greenhouse type of a thing yeah so she actually survived all the third most brutal winner in Minnesota History in northern Minnesota I think no this one was a record no this one was a record it was dude I plow snow for a living so I know it sucked the kittens look at the kittens anyway she survived the third most brutal winter in cold yeah yeah so we're trying to get that well well okay all right I'll be probably doing this all day good you can just dump some water in it clean her out too she looks like she's ready these stains are if I if I can get those out man this thing will be like fit for a goddess okay right now and as soon as she gets in there it's going to be stained just as bad and when her boyfriend gets in there it's going to be another color know if he's allowed he might not be about him pressure wash him first you get a pressure Thomas you're getting the pressure washing before you get to go in and
