What happens here
A professional-grade walk-behind floor grinder, such as the Q261 from Tates Rents visible on the machine, is maneuvered across the concrete floor. The grinder's rotating abrasive discs or diamond segments remove the top layer of concrete and any previous finishes, creating a rough, clean surface profile (CSP - Concrete Surface Profile) suitable for new coatings. The operator systematically covers the entire main floor area, ensuring even removal and consistent texture.
Goal: The first step involves using a heavy-duty, walk-behind floor grinder to mechanically abrade the main surface of the concrete floor. This process removes existing coatings, sealants, or contaminants and creates a uniform profile for improved adhesion of subsequent layers.
