What happens here
After the floor has completely dried, a final cleaning is performed using acetone. The operator pours acetone onto the floor in sections and immediately spreads it with a flat mop. Acetone is a fast-drying solvent that acts as a powerful degreaser, removing any remaining oils, residues, or contaminants that might interfere with the adhesion of an epoxy or other floor coating. This final wipe-down leaves the concrete surface impeccably clean and ready for the next stage of the coating application.
Goal: As a final preparation step, the dry floor is wiped down with acetone to remove any last traces of grease, oil, or residues, ensuring a pristine surface for coating.
