Newell Coach Air Leak Hunt! Finding All Kinds of Surprises...

What happens here

After successfully repairing the first leak, the creator discovers a second air leak on the opposite side of the RV, showing that the issue was not isolated. He identifies it as the same type of faulty push-lock fitting. He plans to go back to the truck stop the following day to purchase two true compression fittings (his preferred type) to replace both the newly discovered leaking fitting and the previously installed brass push-lock, aiming for a more permanent and reliable fix. He mentions that the constantly running compressor, due to the leaks, was generating excessive heat, which could damage other components.

Goal: Address the remaining air leaks in the RV's suspension system

Tools and materials

  • Brass Compression Fittings — Planned replacement for both remaining push-lock fittings

so now that it's built pressure i'm gonna go in there lift the front all the way back up like full out lift mode and then uh kill it we'll see if that fitting is still making noise i'm back to being a coal miner by the way i look like a coal miner after freaking sticking my arm all up in there i grease my armpit i've never had grease in my armpit before my hair probably looks stupid because i took coal miner light off but it is off and i don't hear anything yet maybe just a faint sound but it could be coming from somewhere else i think we really did it remember how i said that thing about the elephant well we definitely got part of the elephant fixing that one but i totally did not see there's another one on the other side and now i can hear that one's leaking too not as bad as the other side was but it's the same thing i need to go back and get another fitting goal oh well progress this is all progress i actually thought i might be able to pill for a fitting off of the escalade um because it does use those push lock lines too but none of the ones i have are the same uh configuration like in and out size wise as the newell uses so i can't do that but the thought counts i was about to steal parts from my race car i'm just gonna do that other one tomorrow i may even go try a little bit harder and try to find two compression fittings so that those will be done for good but yeah if i'm in there got the tools out i might as well swap the other one back to compression fading this will be pain in the butt to find i'll go back to the same truck stop i went to last time you get the same uh brass push lock but man and actually when i was in like playing with it i made it worse so that was fitting it's just garbage like i tried to like push it in to see if i could get it to stop and just it just got louder so it'd be like that sometimes uh really i wasn't even gonna do any of that today i was gonna see if i could find where the leak was and then change that canister but you know i got i got in the rabbit hole got all excited and made some big progress so today is a bigger win than i woke up anticipating and i'm not complaining about that kind of stinks that there's a second one too but at the same time knocking out the first one made the second one show its head so those are all contributing to the larger picture of this problem if i knock out that one then i can find the next biggest one and you know down the line until it's freaking meant that's kind of the plan…
