NEEDS TLC...But..What the heck is it? New equipment for the farm!!

What happens here

Upon returning to the farm with the newly acquired Jacobsen turf seeder, Josh conducts an initial inspection. He notes several areas needing attention: the bearings require greasing, a specific connector on the machinery is broken and will need welding, and the PTO (Power Take-Off) shaft is seized, meaning it's not sliding as intended and needs to be soaked in a penetrating lubricant like PB Blaster to free it up. These initial observations are critical for planning the restoration needed to ensure the seeder functions reliably for planting native grasses and wildlife food plots.

Goal: An initial inspection of the seeder reveals several maintenance needs, including greasing bearings, welding a broken connector, and freeing a seized PTO shaft.

Tools and materials

back at the house and this is the piece of equipment we'll take you around it will show you it's got a few little knick-knack things that are wrong with it I've got to soak it down in PB Blaster it just needs to be soaked down and greased and oiled there's a few things that aren't working so we'll walk around it I'll show you I'll tell you what it does and man what a stress ball what a stressful trip so we've been out on the road here for an hour on this tractor and I'm probably going 2015 20 miles an hour or something like that and I've got people just boom boom just flying by me I don't understand that I just don't get it when you see a piece of farm equipment it's an unpredictable machine and God guys if there's anything you can learn from this vlog today please slow down around the farm equipment on the road it's just dangerous sometimes you never know I took it kind of easy because it's an older tractor and I don't know if some wheel might lock up or something might pull off to the left or the right be cautious when you're following tractors or farm equipment making this tractor out on the road really makes me wonder what it's like to live in a place where you have to drive 30 and 40 and 50 miles I guess like Iowa where farms are so spread apart and you've got to take your machinery out on the road stressful let's go take a look at this cedar so this is a Jacobsen 80 to 201 there's a serial number and everything and this is what we've got so it's got some bearings on it and they need a little bit of attention need some grease got some connectors here this connector was broken I got a piece of I'm gonna have to weld right here so it needs a little TLC you can see the PTO shaft is supposed to slide back and forth this way and it's just not sliding so we'll have to work on that that's what we'll be soaking down with some PB Blaster and we'll make sure all these knuckles or cv joints or u joints or whatever you want to call them make sure all those are nice and lubricated and everything looks good there I think the machine runs fine
