that's at work here at Meyer hatcheries so come along today we're gonna have some fun we'll show you a few things online and we'll get you some screen shots and just talk you through what's going on and do a little live chat and I think we're gonna click the call button and see what happens there so come along today on the farm vlog we'll have a little bit of fun hopefully you'll learn a little something if you've never ordered chickens before online this is how you do it all right [Music] thumbs don't even reach stony reach Vaughn [Music] so guys first of all welcome to our farm channel this is your first time be sure and click that like button subscribe to the channel for more goodies like this all kinds of fun stuff going on the farm all the time and also welcome to my office this is our farm office and this is our YouTube office here so this is where we do all our editing you can see some drone footage going on right here over the farm from this past fall and we're online here with my er hatchery and from this point we're gonna walk you through and talk you through what's going on we're going to go into our chat session right here okay and we'll talk to Maya hatchery so guys this is kind of a down-and-dirty course on chatting live with Maya hatchery so I'm just starting the chat here and tell them I have a few questions and that's Megan with Meyer hatchery she said good morning so I ordered some boilers I ordered the Cornish cross boilers last week and looks like they're going to be coming in and she says it's USPS priority mail it takes one to three days for them to come in I wanted to ask if they offer a guarantee on the birds in case one of them dies or something like that and she answered yeah they have a 48-hour guarantee which I had no idea so the next question I'm asking is what should I have ready the brooder box and all that stuff and we'll go into detail about that a little bit later on in the next video series or the next part of this video series and in she's saying I should have a warm brooder area where I can keep him warm and then there's a link down there that she provided and that way I couldn't check it out and see what I need to do now when I ordered my meat birds they talked to me about the Ranger meat birds and I wanted to ask a question about that since we'll be free-ranging these birds I think we'll get a set of Ranger meat Birds they're a little bit more robust bird and require a little bit less care when they're out free-ranging so we'll probably get those in the fall and she's telling me that the Rangers grow to 5 to 6 pounds and 9 9 to 11 weeks and about nine weeks is when your Cornish cross birds are ready to be processed cool and I asked her if they have a blog or a website where a guy could go and find out any information and she said yep you can go to the website you can go to email um info at Meyer hatchery com or you can go to their blog so all kinds of stuff and you can call them and ask questions anytime they're really really really nice people and the health of these birds have really really shined as compared to the birds that I've gotten at my local feed store they've just been a better bird cool well I'm gonna give her a column and click this Call Me button and we'll see if we can do a phone call with her should be pretty cool yes hello let me connect you to Meghan Meghan is this Meghan with Meyer hatchery so I was on line here and I just wanted to let you know I'm a youtuber and I'm showing some of the features of your website for folks that are looking at buying chickens for the first time so a first time chicken buyer I've had some great experiences with fire hatcheries birds in the past and I just tend to drive people to Meyer hatchery because I've had good health with my birds versus the birds that you get at say a local farm store or something like that I like the hatchery I like what you guys do and you guys are based out of Ohio is that right that is how they spent on postal Cairo which is live a northeast corner gotcha so if I live in California can i order birds do you guys overnight those birds to me or how does that work no matter where you are even Alaska trying to get there within a few days they all go or email or expressed reading on the sides of the orders and you can get any more than that it straight from that time awesome awesome so I love they'll go to the post office and I give you my phone number and the post office will call me when they arrive is that how it works yeah they put the phone in bombing outside of the box and has to go 24 pickups and that way that shortens the length of time before they you know so that you can out of that box can get into their new home and connector so cool now how did the chickens go without food or water first that many days is that ok it is as part of their hatching process they ingest the remaining part of the yolk that's been nourishing them during their incubation process and that is just a natural survival mechanism for the chicks in case they can't find food you know right off the bat in the wild they are ok for three or so days and that enables not to finish it them safely to you well that's cool works out good for shipping and it works out good for everything I'm really happy to get my Birds I'm excited to get them and I appreciate you talking with me and I just want to let you know you're gonna be on YouTube and you're gonna be teaching a whole bunch of people all around the world how to order baby chicks I guess all around the country anyway and maybe all around the world so that'll be fun that's exciting thank you for taking us to do that and I'm so glad to hear that you've had great success with us in the past and you have any questions at any time you are available to help you out ok so if I order say I've had these birds for four months and one of them gets sick I can always chat in and ask questions about that you sure can we may may or may not have the answers but we'll definitely try to punch on the right nurse and that's for sure okay do you guys carry like books for people that want to start raising chickens we do if that'll cool items oh it's one of my my favorite one there's a ship in help hands barks I represent myself sometimes even on a daily basis if you have chickens and you gotta have that book so that's what's it called the chicken health handbook chicken help handbook okay cool right on well if you will post me a little link to that in our chat and I'll check it out I appreciate it okay well thanks a lot and I look forward to getting my Birds if I have any questions I'll call you sounds wonderful Thank You Josh have a great weekend all right thank you bye-bye Thanks that's cool that's just how easy it
