Mr. Build It: Behind The Builds LIVE!

What happens here

He elaborates on his current and future construction endeavors. He mentions working on a 'cabin' project (a house he recently acquired) and plans for upgrades, including building an outdoor kitchen with a built-in sink and grill. He also expresses interest in potentially renovating old mobile homes in trailer parks or building houses out of shipping containers, seeking audience feedback on the latter idea. He shares his previous experience of successfully flipping a house in a year, which provided capital for the current project. He touches upon the challenges of construction, noting the increasing difficulty of homeownership and the issues encountered during his projects, such as delays with drywall, propane tanks, and electricians. He concludes by emphasizing the importance of adapting to unforeseen problems.

Goal: The contractor discusses ongoing and upcoming projects, including house renovation, an outdoor kitchen, and a potential venture into renovating mobile homes or shipping containers.

left his equipment well just a skid in his dump truck at the cabin cuz we're uh working on a project together and uh and I saw it when I pulled up and I was like o hey man can I use it like I messaged him and he's like yeah dude I also have the dump trailer there if you need to go get a rock and I was like yeah I used to be so intimidated by uh heavy equipment like this you know the classic like anything first time you do is scary but once you do it the first time you get over that little hump of fear it's so nice cuz I'd be throwing a shovel around right now it would be absolute misery but with this easy work I started with um my friends over at Tate's rents they [Music] uh they uh let me borrow their mini skid when I was doing the abandoned house for the like the driveway and the landscape and you get the hang of that thing pretty quick and but it's a little bit of like finagling where like in order to control each side of the skid you have to use like one lever and the other level so you have to kind of do this like hold them back together hold them forward and then if you want to turn you kind of you know do a little piano work piano hands um but with this it's got a joystick here so one joystick strictly controls forward back side to side put it to side it'll spin you in circles like this other side forward back just classic gaming controller and then the other joystick on the right here that controls your bucket so it's so much more intuitive um about 3 weeks ago I had to rent a an excavator and those suckers are freaking hard to learn they have two modes on them uh deer mode and I guess traditional mode I don't know what the Opposites are and uh it's so counterintuitive it's so hard to use like the whole time I had to like talk to myself be like okay remember so I would I would dig pick up the bucket and then I would try to swing the bucket over but really by turning it sideways it'll open the bucket and so that I would just dump all the soil everywhere I like that hat you have straws is awesome workware and of course like you thanks I got an opportunity to work with them um on a video and they sent me this hat a T-shirt and two work pants and I got to say I really like their work pants because most work pants like car heart area they need to be broken in like if you think of your stereotypical construction worker guy probably a little beefy Hefty on the on the heavier side um I mean of course there's exceptions to the rule there's plenty of fit…
