Mopping Walls Before Priming. Painting New Wallboard or Drywall. New construction painting.

What happens here

Before initiating the dry mopping, it's crucial to gather all necessary tools and don appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). The primary tools for this step include a 'dry mop' (preferably a large 'floor mop' or 'dust mop') to dislodge dust from the walls, and a 'weed blower' (or similar leaf blower) to clear away airborne dust after mopping. For safety, a 'respirator' (specifically a '3M respirator' is recommended by the presenter) is essential to prevent inhaling fine drywall dust particles. To protect clothing from the heavy dust, the presenter advises wearing a 'monkey suit' (disposable coveralls). A 'spray sock' or balaclava should also be worn to keep dust out of your hair and off your head. Additionally, changing into 'dirty paint clothes' and 'dirty shoes' is suggested to avoid contaminating your clean attire and footwear during this messy job.

Goal: Collect all required tools and put on appropriate safety gear before starting the dusty work.
