Mopping Walls Before Priming. Painting New Wallboard or Drywall. New construction painting.

What happens here

After dry mopping the walls, the next step is to remove any remaining fine dust particles. Use a 'weed blower' (or similar leaf blower) to thoroughly blow off all residual dust from the walls and any other horizontal surfaces in the room. Before beginning this step, ensure all windows and exterior doors are open to create cross-ventilation, allowing the dislodged dust to be effectively blown out of the building. This helps to achieve the cleanest possible surface for the subsequent priming step and minimizes lingering airborne dust.

Goal: Clear all residual fine drywall dust from the walls and the room.

mopping the ceilings. So now I got the mopping all done and that's just a dry mopping process. It's not using a wet mop. It's a dry mop. So dry mopped it all. Got all that loose dust off the bulk of it. And now we're just going to blow it with a blower and then begin the priming process. So here we go with the blower. Typical just weed blower that we just blow it off with. So here we go. Just got my weed blower ready to go. I'm going to start it up and we're going to get blown away. opened all the windows. That way the dust can just blow off these windows and get the bulk of this um mud dust out of here. So now we got the mopping process and cleaning of these walls all done now. And now we're going to start the process of priming these walls with a PVA primer. So we're going to begin masking and priming. So stay tuned for this video. You can click on my next video of this series in this video number two right here and that will take you to the priming and masking process
