(5,527 characters)if they're not here where is it oh it's right out there falling away a thunderstorm pops up out of nowhere and sweeps the neighbors pontoon down the lake and leaves something behind for my jeep that's not good let's go check it out [Music] it did hit it huh how bad is it [Music] oh that's a big one wow the whole thing just snapped right off look at that two snapped one went that way and the other one decided to say hello to my little jeep milwaukee sent me a new tool that i've never seen anything like before called the hatchet and it kind of looked like a joke so it just got buried in the boxes with all the other stuff the first red flag i noticed was the fact that it runs off the m12 platform which makes me question if it's going to be powerful enough to do what guys need it to do must fill with bar and chain oil before use when filled hold trigger for 30 seconds before just like most regular chainsaws this has an automatic oiler but it does have a pretty small storage tank that's a bit too full oh no dang it [Music] now this runs a six-inch oregon bar and chain but if you look closely at that chain you may notice that they've done something a little bit different with it really light my understanding is there's something special about this chain i'll look into that now if you look closely at that chain it uses a full house chain with a cutter on every drive length as opposed to a standard chainsaw which has the cutter on every other drive length now according to milwaukee's press release they're doing this to reduce vibration and to provide cleaner cuts that black tool is called a sketch and that gives you access to the chain and also the ability to tighten it when you need to okay all right pretty straight forward let's go check test it out good to [Music] ah this thing is slick i did have a chance to actually talk to one of the product managers that helped develop this tool and i asked them about that m12 platform and why they went with that and they said that was to lighten up the tool to make it easier to handle and more well easier to handle i wasn't expecting much this is way better than i was expecting now this is officially called the m12 hatchet six inch pruning saw and it's designed to cut up to three inch hardwoods so let's try it on something bigger and wetter right away you can feel that it's very light and very well balanced making it really comfortable to operate now even though it's not designed to cut this i know some of you are probably thinking can it do it so let's find out now according to milwaukee's safety sheet they do want you to use two hands anytime you're running this thing but it's so light it's really easy to forget grab it with one hand grab the branch with the other hand and just call it [Applause] as a pure living saw it's probably the best i've ever used [Music] so you can also feather the trigger to control the cut speed you're not always all in or all out with this tool but the storm damaged my neighbor's trees as well which gave me a chance to test this thing out further as a true limbing saw hey guys i want to jump in here because there's something i didn't notice until i was editing this video and the first time that you grab this saw your hand naturally wants to gravitate toward the top of this hand grip and this is not a safe zone if my hand would have slipped i could have injured my fingers the thing is for some people it's going to feel a little bit more natural here than it is here but this is where your hand is safe and the reason it might feel more natural is when you're on top of this hand grip it's got these indents but it also feels like it gives you more leverage and the saw doesn't give the sod takes whatever you throw at it and it just naturally feels like you can really torque on it better here than you can here and i just want you guys to be safe all right you guys here's my two cents on this thing i was pretty much expecting to be delivered a cheesy gimmick that's why it sat in a box for about two weeks before i ever cracked it open i figured running off the m12 platform she wasn't gonna have enough power or juice to really get anything done and i will tell you i am walking away with probably a go-to tool that i will have uh with every guy every crew that i have going out there easily the handiest chainsaw i've used enough power enough battery performance it's not going to go out and clear brush but it's going to go out and get a job done the ergonomics are phenomenal there's just i don't i don't know what else to say about i don't know what the bad things are about this um i'm going to guess bad thing six inch chain you're not going to go out and replace that just about anywhere so you might want to order a couple x3 and have them sitting on hand so if those go out but i mean the chain tightener everything is pretty much a familiar concept except this has got like this weird hacksaw design and it works and that's all i got to say about this thing and that's our video for today god bless go get em we'll see you guys on another one okay guys i want to jump in here real quick because i didn't notice this until i was actually editing this video but i'm actually holding it the wrong way with my fingers on the outside of the guard even though it's comfortable and feels good if my hand slips i could injure my fingers it's really meant to go inside the guard and so i just wanted to point that out so that you guys are safe here we go now we're done see you guys on another one
