What happens here
Once the decorative retaining wall is fully constructed and secured, additional weed barrier fabric is carefully laid inside the newly defined tree bed. This fabric is trimmed to fit snugly against the inner edge of the blocks and around the tree trunk. The final step involves spreading a layer of decorative bark or mulch over the weed barrier inside the tree ring. This adds a clean, finished appearance, helps retain soil moisture, and further suppresses weed growth. This area is perfect for integrating low-voltage accent lights or mini-spotlights to highlight the tree's canopy or trunk at night.
Goal: After the retaining wall is complete, weed barrier is laid inside the new tree bed, and the area is filled with bark or mulch for a finished look.
