LSXcalade Returns! New LS7 Hi Ram Intake Manifold Prep & Flow Testing The OG 2000cc Injectors

What happens here

Begin by carefully removing the old fuel injectors from the LS3 intake manifold base. These will be sent off for testing and cleaning. Then, use a cordless drill to drill a new port on the lower intake manifold base to accommodate a custom intake temperature sensor, and another port for a vacuum reference line. After drilling, use a pipe tap and a ratchet to create precise threads in the newly drilled holes. Ensure not to over-tap, as the taper is crucial for a tight seal. A final port for the throttle cable bracket will also be drilled.

Goal: Prepare the lower intake manifold with custom ports for vacuum and sensors, and remove existing injectors.

Tools and materials

answer all those questions forever everything in here is very custom and we're gonna have to get the new hi-ram base ready to work where this old one did because there's we're gonna have to drill out and tap a couple ports back here and another one right here in the crotch right on the bottom the little wheel goes to the distribution block under the hood for vacuum reference for everything yeah yep and there wasn't enough room to like you know you don't want that crap off the charge pipe or anything so i put it under here obviously you can't reach this when the intake is on but the whole purpose is you put it on there and you tighten this down and then when you bolt the intake on then you just leave this hanging on the back and you connect it where it goes we have to move this fitting over to the new one and we have to pull the injectors out of this one so we can go take them to get tested and cleaned if they need to be cleaned so let's start with that and we're going to take this lid off because we're using the lid just not the base because this is an ls3 base and the new top end is ls7 based uh it's so pretty yeah it's black left over from the storage closet at lme it's port matched to i think mast heads they said but it's gonna be better than this the stock non-boarded base that we had on there anyway and we also got to drill holes for this custom throttle bracket onto this one pretty much everything on this build has been modified in some way to be suitable for the escalade yeah it's not like you like oh you can just throw a new base on there i mean you can but you got to do a bunch of stuff to it to make it work so that is the cool part of a custom build is everything is custom and it's painted about to work on sometimes do you want to learn how to take the injectors out yeah okay let's do that first so we took the two bolts off the rails these are holley rails they came with the intake and just flipped them around so the holley was on the inside before because there's a funny story about that but they're going to be on the outside now um yeah you want to see if that'll come off yes wiggle it oh no the spacer because there's nothing holding them on anymore where to go we need that that's critical oh it's under the escalade it's by the exhaust oh i just wanted to go home it's okay you go home soon there's another one gonna fall off no there's only two okay just making sure yeah what these do is hold the fuel rail the right distance away from this to be…
