Moldy Rolls Royce Phantom is GUTTED: Evaluating Interior Condition & The Long Road Ahead...

cool that worked time has finally come to give the rolls first wash I am super pumped for this here's what the what it's like in here now excuse the bomb explosion in here we're still getting settled but we got to get this stuff apart those are in there keep this thing going I think that this is like ripping the leather you want to see what's behind the panel on the door so it just had a bunch of these kind of stamped nuts almost like a70s car like the mon Carlos put together with a bunch of these I broke a lot of those yeah they uh that might have been why a bunch of them broke when I took them off either that cuz the plastic was brittle I don't know it was really brittle I was like literally scrubbing them with that little brush and they were breaking well even if they all broke off we can fasten it back together some other way but let's see I think this is part of it too I forgot about that one I'm concerned about these because the water level had part of these panels underwater we may find not very much behind here or maybe the most disgusting thing we've ever seen I don't know what's your prediction I think that the edges will be really gross we might have to uh pry it a little bit yeah yeah we're also going to hook up the batteries and see if stuff will light up and if it does and like the key works and stuff then we'll go through and change the fluids and see like you know is it okay or would it run I don't know so we got the these this Excess power batter is actually for the Escalade but we're going to use it because the ones that came out of the car are junk according to this Excess power intell charger which is a beast I love this thing oh try from the bottom using that lesson that we go oh I'm terrified everything that took apart I put in bags which are labeled and we're going to have a box for like the main interior hardware and then a box for sub assemblies like this so when you take something out of the car and then you break it down more we'll have a different organization just for that that way when it comes time once we've redone and recovered whatever we're doing even with all the mental notes and like nuts and both separated this is still going to be a complete nightmare to put back together yeah it's it's going to be a lot of trial and error cuz a lot of these pieces even look the same like the trim pieces for the front and back yeah they're all like very similar yeah you're was going to have to hold it up and be like Oh either fits here or it doesn't so that's really not bad at all no I'm impressed yeah like clean those edges and it's like fine yeah this is okay this is this is consequential stuff right here I just hope it's not behind it do you think it would get behind it yeah possibly yeah I want to take these out too we can take the speakers out put them in here too I think after I get all these out I'll have to get one of the power tools out and grind all these Nubs off to get this off I was concerned that there was going to be leather Behind these too and they're not it's just plastic like the the leather surface ends pretty much right where the edge is that I mean this one is pretty gross but it's like not as bad as you would think it would be this is one of the ones that had been underwater too yeah this one was really gross when I initially cleaned it if anybody knows like anything about the tools if there's like a specific staple gun for upholstery and these kind of things or like all the products you recommend for reupholstering stuff cuz I want to do that I think it'd be like useful to know for like the Monte Carlo do like cuz like the headliner is kind of falling apart it's still the original headliner and I like resoed it but it's still needs to be like replaced mhm it'd be really cool to like redo the interior on it learn how to do the stuff and make a console for it you make door panels and like all kinds of cool stuff yeah so we're about to find out what's behind the leather I believe this piece was from the front of the back seat kind of the W by your legs mhm I would go as far as vinegar I would go as far as to call that nothing I think that dark stuff is just probably stain the back side of this this leather looks like yeah there's nothing wrong with this anybody see any mold here if you do you're a liar yeah there's nothing here can clean both sides again and I it and get it ready to be dyed it's fine I'm going to do the back panel now get that one off it's actually heavier than the front ones it seems weird but I don't know why maybe cuz this this thing in here is probably because it's all metal how's it going over here my internal mold test kit AKA uh allergies and Asthma says this one's still pretty dirty I can feel it those ones were the hard hardest to clean because of all of this stuff just going to have to try harder cool that worked yeah this one is dirtier M I'm glad I didn't pry too hard on this cuz apparently it does screw in there how the hell are you supposed to get to this who put this together because they don't want you to do that no they don't they don't want it would be really cool if corporate rolls of roast was into what we doing with this but I just don't feel like they would be I just don't then again I wouldn't think that management at n would think it was okay to do what I'm doing with that one or show up in the parking lot with no Muffler sounding like a Peter belt but you pull in there and the owner of the company is standing in the parking lot and you start making stupid noises CU your friends out there Andrew steel I didn't know he was standing with the owner of the company I was making noise so he could hear it and then I found out that he was standing with owner and he thought it was cool so you never know I didn't think that the people at new will be as cool as they are so maybe the people at Rolls-Royce are cool too I don't know you never know you know anybody who works for Rolls-Royce um tell them to hit me up I'm curious to see if we can get some of these things to actually work some of the wiring that we think is ruined mhm that one guy in the comments said that we could soak a lot of it in like vinegar and salt and that'll get the corrosion off of it yeah I'd really like to get at least the basic body functions to work again like put the b h ornament and stuff yeah Windows Windows definitely how these thingies I think you have to press on it is that how it yeah see oh yeah it comes apart individually that's complicated yeah there's more on the back yeah these and got this hooky hookie ew that was gross it's grease I but fingers no thanks there we go yeah this thing is heavy huh it doesn't look as gross as I thought it would I thought there would be stuff on back yeah that's how the Europeans do it it's funny now I'm going to do some more cleaning and taking apart I'm going to take apart these panels here cuz that wood unscrews and and these pop out uh separately I believe and I'm going to take these apart too cuz I think we could probably make these work again and there's mold on the back side got the chrome parts but not anything that I could see on the center black part so I take that apart too and I got to clean these just for the second cleaning them cuz they never really got cleaned I have great admirations for Logan's ability to do this CU I'm just not about it like literally I'm I'm going to get the pressure washer and I'm going to blast the out of those so you got this one almost apart yeah see M there's like still some yeah not like a whole lot but it's like there's still some there just in the flaps cuz are like hard to get into and this piece is the one that was on the very back of the ceiling where the third brake light was against the back looks pretty damn good back glass yeah and that one was quite yucky when it was before we cleaned everything yeah I don't really know how it cleaned up better than most of them Mak sense my worry with all of these are they do have padding underneath it yeah so it's not like other cars where you could just pull it off and it is just nothing on the underside of the leather it it does have stuff that will hold fold yeah like could the moisture get through the leather yeah absolutely hm H I guess we'll pull it off and see so this panel that has all the stains on it has mold underneath to in the foam it's disgusting crud oh we got to rip it off yeah I need your help it's like super glued down there this piece freaking suck to get apart like we need to get a heat gun real bad uh yeah kind of surprising that we don't have one but we don't definitely going to have to get one before we tear the rest of these apart cuz this is hard hard time has finally come to give the rolls this first wash I'm super pumped for this because the engine bay is all cruddy you can see where the water level was it may have been up to here for momentarily and then it came back down here and it was like real dirty but somebody said in the comments show the engine next time so here it is it's like a overboard um got a bigger board more stroke than the n73 BMW V12 engine this is is what this is just bigger displacement and it has a really cool looking metal intake manifold uh not the first time I wased this car but the first time I've watched it since it's been mine just trying to get all the mud off everything in here all cleaned off here and now I realize how much crud is stuck to it like these all these little all these little turls on there from a tree that it was over and bird poop that's great but you know this is Rolls-Royce paint it's good stuff it'll it'll buff out and I wash the nle too just cuz I thought um I should cuz I had the stuff out and I've actually never hand washed that thing myself before cuz I thought it would take forever and it took me probably like over an hour just to watch the side of it with a mitt cuz I don't even have the Brushy thing I need to get one of those do you guys want to see videos more videos like working on the nle and fixing stuff on it cuz it definitely needs it and it's going to be done I don't know if the interest is there because as time has gone on my microscope of what I think I'm supposed to be posting about Zooms in and in and in and in and I feel like some of the stuff we do is not worth showing but cuz the kind of stuff that could get me by when the channel is really small is not the same as what can work now without you know shooting the algorithm in the foot it's weird it's a struggle all the time but if I know you guys want to watch stuff even if it's a small percentage of you I'll post it I'm far less filtered than a lot of people are but it's always it's a constant battle to not fall victim to that too much if you know what I mean I don't know it's just one of those things anyway I was checking this out I think these badges straight up unbolt from the intake manifold in this cover so I'm going to see if they come off and if they do that makes uh decorating the new engine way easier what we're going to put in here has no business being in a Rolls-Royce Phantom but it will fit under the hood it will be daily drivable it will make over 1,000 horsepower we're going to make it look like it's supposed to be in there and I think this is going to help out so let's grab some torque spits and see if those come off oh I took the bolts out but I wanted to mention some of you said I need to get an ozone machine um we have one running in there right now I just haven't said anything about it so let's see if this comes off I had given up trying to get those off and then I put two of the bolts back in and I tightened them a little more than they were before and put the back ones in and I saw it squish down and I thought oh so if I squish it kind of helped it came come off dude this is awesome it's it's the little things like this this is a little wind that keeps my spirits up when this thing just seems like a butload of work life tip when it comes to a car or anything else when you're doing the work don't think about the work think about the result of the work that'll keep you motivated I lose sight of that sometimes and I got to remind myself just like right now when I can look at this and think this is going to be really cool on the new engine so this is the piece that we were just ripping apart you can see better the Sun how discolored it yeah completely disgusting that just shows us we don't know I would guess this is probably going to be the worst one because it is the the worst the most Stained on the outside I mean definitely all of them are going to be pulled apart because it does have mold underneath the leather we got the car inside now it's not fully torn apart yet so you can see the dash is still in there but it's a lot better than it was and we did some more decorating in here it's getting better that is a exhaust from a 2002 Kodak car like Talladega car it still has still has rubber stuck to it on that side I should have sh shown it before we put it up there but I guess we can talk more about it later oh yeah we got our our Press Room here this is where we're going to do our final explanation hold on a minute so I think we're both a little disappointed that we didn't get more actual progress done as quickly as we wanted but we learned a lot about the situation that we are facing now and we got to figure out what we need to get to do this stuff right like what what yeah we're just like a lot of research being done to make sure it's done the right way yeah cuz we can't just clean it and throw it back in there cuz like you just saw there's foam with molding underneath it'll be a freaking problem forever if it's like that it has to get completely stripped down to the plastic and recovered which we want to do ourselves so you have any good links or info as to what kind of sewing machine to get if there's like certain kinds of glue where to you know the foam any of that stuff we need to figure that out so we're open to learn anything not every video has to be a blockbuster of look at all this stuff we got done cuz that's not real the some of them are going to be like that other ones aren't you're a part of this process if you're watching this in the most authentic way possible share the wins and share the losses that's that's how it goes here and I don't want to lose sight of that even though it feels weird to post videos where we don't necessarily kill it every time it's just impossible to absolutely not it out of the park every time because we're humans and we can't accomplish as much as yeah yeah it just can't do it this is how we survive so we can't spend a month on one video or you know the rent doesn't get paid we have to keep it going and keeping it going keeps things going cuz if we don't do stuff then we can't get stuff to do more stuff it's a vicious cycle and it is really hard sometimes but to summarize our plan of attack moving forward with these pieces of the car is we're going to prioritize the stuff that goes on the roof first because um that's what makes it look like full interior we could redo carpet if we need to we can make floor pans to make it flat and do our own carpet universally and you know make it out of multiple pieces you can stitch like you know piping on the ends of it to make it work I'm not too worried about all that it's really just stripping down all the pieces that go around the doors of the roof yeah all of that has to be stripped down replace the leather that needs to be replaced and all that stuff cuz our theory is if we get the roof recovered like the you know pieces to come up for the a pillars and the B pillars and all that the rest can be filled out with somewhat generic things obviously the door panels too but like you saw those aren't too bad we're going to be able to R redo those also if we have the roof pieces the door panels and the dash frame it doesn't matter what seats we use doesn't matter what carpet we use doesn't matter what gauges there are like that's the that's the pieces of the Interior that keep it look from looking like a tin can race car and that's not what we want there's not going to be any modules or airbags or anything behind that stuff so it's going to be a lot lighter than it was but it's going to look like it's all still there cuz probably none of those things would work anyway so that's the plan that's our priority if you have any useful info we'd love to hear it CU we are in a new world and we need to way like detoxified getting the dash out and everything yeah we don't need black mold yeah no oh boy I cleaned it you did it looks a lot better didn't see anything it was I didn't clean down there cuz I couldn't reach it but I cleaned like stuff that you could see yeah it looks way better I can see like this looks clean and this thing being dirty was one of the only nice reasons to take it all
