What happens here

Before installing the soffit panels, J-channel needs to be secured to the building's fascia board. The J-channel pieces are measured, cut with tin snips, and then attached using a cordless drill and screws. The goal is to ensure the J-channel is level along the entire run to create a consistent track for the soffit. The video explains that the J-channel should be installed so its top edge aligns with the bottom of the fascia, and once pieces are put in place, they can be screwed to the wall. The soffit pieces are cut slightly shorter than the exact distance to allow for metal capping to fit over them.

Goal: Create a receiving channel for the vinyl soffit panels.
