What happens here

To achieve perfectly crisp lines on window trim, especially where it meets vinyl windows, a special caulking technique is employed. After the window frame is masked with Frog Tape, clear paintable caulk is applied along the inner edge of the tape, sealing any tiny gaps or imperfections between the tape and the window surface. This creates a barrier that prevents paint from bleeding under the tape. This method is particularly useful where the vinyl and wood might have slight separations or existing cracks, ensuring a clean, professional edge once the tape is removed. The worker uses a caulk gun to apply a thin bead of caulk, which is then smoothed out to create a tight seal.

Goal: Prevent paint bleed-through under masking tape on window trim.

baseboard trim. Okay, we're getting ready to spray this window. We got cocked with Frog Tape. We typically like to take clear cocking and around the tape to make sure there's no bleeding through that gets onto the vinyl windows. The frog tape's used pretty good. And uh but we we like to actually just use cocking also. And a lot of times there's a separation between the vinyl and the wood where it cracks and the cocking process will fill that. So you get your tape sealed and that crack filled all in one. Then we'll spray the window. While the window trim is still wet, we'll peel off that masking.
