Installing 2 New Outdoor Outlets for a customer, what would you rate this install? #electrician

What happens here

Once the Romex wire is brought to the exterior of the house, the next step is to prepare for the conduit and electrical boxes. For exterior wiring, 1/2 inch EMT (Electrical Metallic Tubing) conduit is used for protection. This involves drilling an appropriate entry hole through the exterior wall for the Romex wire, then securing the EMT conduit from this entry point up to the planned height of the outdoor outlets. Use conduit straps to attach the conduit firmly to the house siding. Bending the conduit might be necessary to accommodate architectural features or desired angles. Finally, attach weather-resistant outdoor electrical boxes to the ends of the conduit at the two designated outlet locations.

Goal: Create a secure, weather-protected pathway for the electrical wires to the outdoor outlets.

Tools and materials

  • 1/2 inch EMT Conduit — Protecting the electrical wiring on the exterior of the house
  • Conduit Bender — Shaping the EMT conduit to fit the installation path
  • Conduit Straps — Securing the EMT conduit firmly to the exterior wall
  • Drill — Drilling pilot holes for conduit straps and mounting the electrical boxes
  • EMT Connectors/Couplings — Connecting sections of conduit and attaching conduit to electrical boxes
