What happens here
To tie a strong and reliable termination knot, cut a length of wire about 3 feet long. Create a small loop at one end and wrap it snugly around the fence post. Then, feed the long end of the wire back through the loop, making a 'lazy loop'. Hold the lazy loop in place and make two tight wraps around the wire on the side of the post. Use a crank handle (like the end of a spud wrench) to further tighten these wraps, ensuring they are extremely secure. This creates a secure, knotless termination that prevents the wire from slipping or loosening.
Goal: Create a secure termination for the hot wire at the fence post.
