What happens here
After the polymeric sand has been swept into the joints, the worker uses the plate compactor again, carefully passing it over the entire paver surface. This final compaction helps to further settle the polymeric sand deep into the joints and ensures a tight fit between all pavers. Following compaction, a leaf blower is used to remove any remaining fine dust or sand from the paver surfaces. Finally, the patio is gently watered with a hose, allowing the water to activate the polymers in the sand. As the sand dries, it will harden, creating a durable, semi-rigid joint that locks the pavers together, preventing weed growth and insect infestation.
Goal: The paver surface is compacted once more to settle the polymeric sand, followed by gentle watering to activate and harden the sand, securing the pavers.
