I BROKE THE SAWMILL...AND THE TRUCK!

What happens here

Once boards and live edge slabs are cut, offload them from the sawmill. Lumber such as oak and pine can typically be stored outdoors, but valuable cherry lumber, especially the beautiful heartwood, needs to be protected from the elements. The milled cherry is intended for special projects, such as building a bedroom suite, and will be stored in a barn to preserve its quality. During the milling process, always be vigilant to avoid hitting metal objects (referred to as 'dogs' in the video) with the saw blade, as this can quickly damage or 'ruin' the blade, requiring immediate replacement. Despite the occasional setback, the overall process is productive and rewarding.

Goal: Properly store milled lumber and reflect on milling challenges and safety.
