Banding a Calf: Application and Tension

What happens here

With the calf restrained in the chute and the tail secured, reach into the scrotal area to locate both testicles. The goal is to maneuver both testicles completely into the elastic band before tightening. The presenter demonstrates how to position the Callicrate bander around the base of the testicles, ensuring both are properly enclosed. Once positioned, operate the ratchet handle to apply tension until the tension indicator shows the proper tightness (silver band aligns). Finally, activate the cutter to sever the band.

Goal: Successfully apply the Callicrate band to a calf for bloodless castration.
