Replace the overflow plate by aligning it with the screw holes and fastening it securely with the screwdriver. Turn on the water and fill the tub again, letting it get about halfway full. Pull the main drain stopper (if applicable) and observe how quickly the water drains. A properly cleared drain should empty rapidly. If the water still drains slowly, repeat the snaking process or consider calling a professional plumber.
