How to (successfully) repair a radiator.....weld or epoxy..or..plan C??

What happens here

After the failed brazing attempt, the presenter confirms that the material did not adhere and peels it off with snips. He then switches to "Plan B," introducing a two-part epoxy called Permatex Steel Weld. He prepares the area for the epoxy by using needle-nose pliers to pinch and remove some of the radiator fins around the damaged area, creating a larger, flatter surface for the epoxy to bond to. This also allows the epoxy to get a better 'bite'.

Goal: Prepare the radiator for an epoxy-based repair after brazing failure.

Tools and materials

  • Needle-Nose Pliers — Pinching and clearing radiator fins
  • Radiator — The component being prepared for epoxy repair
  • Snips — Removing failed brazing material
  • Two-Part Epoxy Permatex Steel Weld — The alternative repair material
