How to Rebuild a Chainsaw Engine
What happens here
The final step is to reinstall the chain and bar. Carefully place the chain onto the bar and align it with the sprocket. Position the side cover back onto the chainsaw and tighten the nuts using the ratchet scrunch or standard wrench. Ensure the chain tension is correct. Now, remove all old aviation fuel from the tank (if not already done during initial disassembly) and fill it with Stihl MotoMix 50:1 pre-mixed fuel. This fuel is specifically designed for 2-stroke engines and is crucial for proper operation and engine longevity. Before starting, activate the compression release button (if installed). Let the chainsaw warm up and run a few breaking-in cycles, making small cuts and allowing it to idle, varying the idle speed and load on the engine.
Goal: Complete chainsaw assembly, add correct fuel, and perform initial break-in.
