How to paint oak cabinets FAST/EASY
What happens here
Inspect all cabinet surfaces for any imperfections like nicks, dings, or shallow holes. Fill these areas with Bondo or spackle, allowing adequate drying time. Once dry, sand the repaired areas smooth using a sanding sponge. After repairs are complete, apply a first coat of catalyzed lacquer primer surfacer to all cabinet doors and boxes using a spray gun. Ensure even coverage. After the first coat dries, apply a second coat of the primer surfacer. The purpose of these initial primer coats is to provide a uniform base and help expose any remaining imperfections, which will be addressed in subsequent grain filling steps.
Goal: Repair any nicks or dings on the cabinet surfaces with Bondo or spackle, sand smooth, then apply a first and second coat of catalyzed lacquer primer surfacer.
