How To Make Tomato Juice At Home | Easy Canning And Preserving Recipe
What happens here
Slice the washed tomatoes and place them into a large stockpot, filling it about three-quarters full. Place the pot on a stove burner that is appropriately sized for the pot. Turn the heat to medium-high. As the tomatoes begin to cook down, use a potato masher to mash them into a soup-like consistency. Stir frequently to prevent the sugary tomatoes from burning to the bottom of the pot. Continue cooking and mashing for approximately 25 to 45 minutes, depending on the ripeness of your tomatoes.
Goal: Cook and mash tomatoes into a sauce-like consistency for juicing.
