How to Kill and Process a Small Hog December 2016 Part 1 (3 part series)

What happens here

Begin the hog processing by humanely dispatching one pig from the pen using a shotgun (this part of the video is intentionally blurred for ethical reasons). Once the pig is down, load it onto a Gator utility vehicle. Prepare a homemade gambrel made from rebar, designed to hold the pig by its Achilles tendons. Attach the gambrel to the pig's hind legs and use a John Deere 5045E tractor with a front-end loader to hoist the 110-pound pig into the air. Finally, use a garden hose to thoroughly rinse the pig, removing any dirt or debris before further processing.

Goal: Humanely dispatch, hoist, and clean the hog for skinning.
