How To Install An Ice Maker Box In Your Home
What happens here
After cutting the drywall, use a pipe cutter to trim the existing copper pipe to the correct length, ensuring it will align with the new ice maker box's inlet. Ream the inside of the cut pipe to remove any burrs that could restrict water flow or damage O-rings. Then, use a pipe cleaning brush to thoroughly clean both the inside and outside of the copper pipe and the new copper fittings (elbow, tee) that will be soldered. This cleaning ensures a strong, leak-free solder joint. Perform a dry fit of all copper components and the ice maker box to confirm proper alignment and fit before soldering.
Goal: Clean, cut, and dry-fit copper components for soldering.
