How To Hammer A Nail In Concrete or Brick. How to hang a picture.

In this video, I'm going to show you how you can easily hang a picture or any other type of item on a concrete cement or block wall. I've got a fireplace right here. Wanted to hang some pictures on the other side. And I had to go to the extent of actually getting a masonry drill, drilling a hole, and hammering anchor in there. And what a pain in the neck that was to actually hang the picture. And then now I got this situation here where we're actually adding some decorative um panel boards on this. And I had to actually get some um some backing up here to actually screw and hang that to. And I was trying to figure out how I was going to have to attach these boards. And I found this item called at my local hardware store called a ths fluted masonry nail. And I was like, well, that's kind of interesting. It's just a simple little nail. Hell is that thing can actually hammer into brick or concrete or block without it chipping and breaking. So, I bought these things, gave it a test, and I was actually amazed. I'm going to show you how simply and easily these things work and how easy you can hang a picture and see like a basement. We got a basement downstairs, and it's all concrete, and we've never been able to hang any pictures on there. And now, with this simple nail, this is how you can actually do it. So, I'm going to show you how easily it works right now. So, I just got a regular hammer right here. And this fastener, they're called Grip Right fasteners, and they're actually labeled THS fluted masonry nails. I don't know if you can see that right here. I just bought a box of them. I actually bought a couple sizes to mess around with them. These are actually 2-in uh fluted nails right here. And then I actually got um some shorter ones that are actually a quarter inch and a quarter right there. And they're called fluted nails. And they're kind they look uh pretty much like a normal nail, but they're the diameter of them is a little bit bigger. And they are fluted like the box says it's fluted and the tip is a little bit pointier. And I was kind of curious is like these things are are have just got to bend when you start hammering them in there. But I'll show you how easy this thing, this is all actually concrete right here. We've got some just texture over the top of it. But this is block right behind here. And these, that's how easy that thing nails right into that concrete. I can't even pull that thing out now. That easy. Those things will hold a lot of weight. So, I got different types. I got there's concrete block here. We've got some uh red brick right here. And then we got some actual mortar inside there. So there's three different scenarios that you know we can test these nails out. This brick right here I've test out. This is actually a lot harder than this block, but it actually will not nailing. We'll try that once again. I just dropped the nail just like that. Now that thing is nailed in there. These bricks are way way harder than this block. But it it didn't even there's a little bit of um area where it chipped it around that brick. But I can hang any type of picture, you know, from that nail. And I got a picture right here. We'll show you. I just hang that picture just like that. That picture will just hang right on there. Simple and easy to do. I've got one other type right here. So, that's the red brick. We got the mortar inside the brick. Just like that. And the mortar is not quite as hard as the brick, but it nails right into that mortar. But I've never that brick. I've never seen anything as hard as that before. That nail went right in there. And it's not actually in there very far, but it's in there pretty solid. It'll hold any type of small picture, small item. Here's another type of block right here. We'll hammer. Goes right into that block really easily. I got some concrete down here. I'll hammer one in the concrete. Move the camera so you can actually see me. I got a concrete footing down here. And we'll see how they work in the concrete footings. So, I got a concrete footing right here. We actually chipped this away. We're um you know, working on this fireplace right here, but this was some concrete and we had to get a jackhammer and stuff and jackhammer some of the stuff out. But we can um you know, test nailing one of those things out. And this concrete right here, I had to get a hammer drill to try to hammer through um and drill through this aggregate stuff, and the hammer drill wouldn't even work. So, I had to hire a professional to cut the stuff out. But that stuff is super hard. And that nail just went right in there. No problem. That nail is stuck in there really good. Got another part of the concrete right here. This nail went in there. That thing is in there. I can pull it out. I only It only went in maybe probably about an eighth of an inch, but that thing was in there pretty dang good. And that thing could have hell. There's one in there. And it's crazy. You can hammer on these nails super super hard. And they just absolutely do not bend. Don't know what these things are made out of, but they're super hard. [Music] There you go. a quick and easy way on how to actually hang a picture or hang any type of item on um any type of brick, concrete, cement, or block. Got to show you. Well, last I got a bunch of different nails hanging up here that are on there. Got a nail right there. They're all over the place hanging all over here. This one is in there.
