How To Fix Peeling Paint.

What happens here

With the door jamb sanded and caulked, it's ready for priming. Open the can of Mad Dog Dura-Build Surface Smoothing Primer and use a paint brush to apply a thick coat to the entire door jamb. This primer is excellent for filling and smoothing rough, uneven surfaces. Once applied, allow the primer to dry completely. A crucial tip for using this flexible primer is to topcoat it with a satin or semi-gloss paint, avoiding flat paints which can crack due to the primer's movement.

Goal: Prime the door jamb for a smooth and durable paint finish.

So now I got this thing all sanded. It's all cocked. It's ready to be primed. I'm just going to open up my primer and just brush a nice good thick coat on this thing. And then we're going to be letting that dry and coming back and painting this house. One quick note when it comes to using this primer when you top coat it. You only want to use a satin or semi- gloss paint. You don't want to use a flat paint because it'll crack cuz this primer is extremely flexible and it moves a lot and a flat paint will crack on it within a few days. So we we paint all of our exteriors with satin so it's not going to be issue. [Music] Heat up [Music] here.
