How To Correct This Sink Drain Piping!
What happens here
Start by placing the slip nuts and washers onto the sink tailpiece and the newly cut extension tube in the correct order and orientation. Ensure the tapered side of the washer faces the fitting it's sealing against. Apply a generous amount of multi-purpose thread sealant (pipe dope) to the threaded joints of the P-trap and the extension tube where they will connect. Assemble the components: first attach the extension tube to the sink tailpiece, then connect the P-trap assembly to the extension tube and finally to the new Tee fitting in the wall. Ensure the P-trap has the correct downward pitch towards the wall drain. Hand-tighten all slip nuts, then use Channellock pliers to tighten them securely, being careful not to overtighten and crack the plastic components.
Goal: Install the new P-trap assembly and tailpiece extension, ensuring all connections are properly sealed and tightened for a leak-free system.
