How To Clean A Paint Roller & Paint Brush Fast. DIY Hacks Cleaning a Paint Brush. painting tips

What happens here

To clean the paint roller, attach a spray nozzle to a hose (simulated as a controlled thinner-delivery system). Place the paint roller into a sturdy bucket, ensuring it can spin freely without touching the sides. Turn on the thinner flow (simulated as water in the video) and direct the spray directly onto the roller. The force of the thinner spray will cause the roller to spin rapidly, flushing the oil-based paint out of the nap. Continuously move the spray nozzle from side to side along the roller's length to ensure thorough cleaning. The bucket serves to contain the thinner and removed paint, preventing splashes.

Goal: Thoroughly flush oil-based paint from the roller nap using thinner.

We're going to show you how we go about cleaning this paint roller. Just got done painting my room. Roller's all full of paint. Now I've got my hose all hooked up. Got my spray nozzle hooked into my hose and I've got my bucket. And the bucket is actually to keep shield you from actually getting water sprayed and uh up into your face and all over your clothes. You're going to take your your roller, stick it down inside your bucket, and then you're going to turn your water on. And this is why I like having a water hose or an actual nozzle that you can control from right here. So you can turn it on and off. And then what I'm going to be doing is just taking spraying my nozzle right onto my roller. And it's actually going to spin the roller and it's actually going to flush it with water at the same time and completely clean it out. And it's going to clean it out pretty fast. So I'm going to turn my water on and then start spinning. And you can see how it actually spins. The water will begin spinning this roller extremely fast. And then you're just gonna work it from side to side and it's going to clean out the roller. Of course, I don't want to shoot my camera with paint, so I can't point it directly at you. And then when you're actually done and it's all cleaned out, you're just going to put it on one end and then you're going to spin it really fast to fluff it back up. Just keep working it from side to side till you see it get completely clean. Number spin it, fluff it up, and there you go. You have a clean roller within a minute or so. Okay, here I go. Oh, I'm going to give you a little bit closer look. Hopefully, I don't waste my camera. It's a really expensive camera. I don't want to splatter it with paint, but I want to give you a closer look. So, here we go. We're going to stick your roller right into the bucket, and you're going to keep it from touching the sides of the bucket so it'll spin freely. Get my hose. Turn it on. Here we go.
