How to Can Tomatoes! Easy, fun...Wholesome and Simple!

What happens here

Set up a canning funnel on a clean, empty jar. Using a sharp paring knife, carefully cut out the core from each blanched tomato over the 'yucky bucket'. Then, gently peel the loosened skin off the tomato. Once peeled, mash the tomato slightly and place it into the jar through the canning funnel. Continue filling the jar, mashing down the tomatoes to remove air pockets, until about 1 inch of headspace remains at the top of the jar.

Goal: Prepare tomatoes and fill jars correctly with appropriate headspace
