How to buy a good used farm tractor. Great Information, tips and money saving advice! Buyer Beware!

What happens here

Take the tractor for a test drive, checking all gears and ensuring the clutch doesn't slip, especially when taking off on an incline in a medium gear. After the drive, place a piece of cardboard underneath the tractor again to check for new or increased leaks. A few drips are common in older tractors, but significant fluid leaks are a concern. Check all dipsticks, including the hydraulic fluid (located on the right side below the seat), ensuring fluids are clean and clear, not milky or cloudy. Inspect the fuel tank for rust and the fuel filter for water separation. Also, check that the tires are filled with air and that all lights and electrical components are functioning correctly. Focus on critical mechanical and fluid issues rather than easily fixable electrical or minor aesthetic problems.

Goal: Evaluate driving performance, check for new leaks, and verify all fluid levels and conditions
