What happens here

Once seated, ensure the clutch is pressed and the gear selector is in 'start' (S mode). The main gear shift should be in neutral. Release the kill switch, then turn the key to start the engine. A healthy diesel tractor should start very quickly, typically within half a turn to one turnover of the key. Observe the dashboard gauges: water temperature, oil pressure, amp meter, fuel, and hour meter. Oil pressure is the lifeblood of the engine and should peg immediately upon starting. The amp meter should show a positive charge, and the water temperature gauge should begin to rise as the engine warms up. Do not move the tractor until the water temperature gauge moves off 130 degrees Fahrenheit (approximately 54 degrees Celsius) and reaches its normal operating temperature (between 170-200 degrees Fahrenheit or 77-93 degrees Celsius).
