How to Build a Simple Deck

What happens here

After completing the composite decking installation, the next step is to remove the old wooden floorboards from the house's front porch. This is done carefully using a pry bar to lift the planks, exposing the subfloor and concrete footings beneath. The creator notes that these older houses often involve discovering such hidden construction details. Once the old floorboards are removed, the exposed areas are prepared for the new, continuous composite decking.

Goal: Clear the old wooden floorboards from the porch to prepare for new decking.

[Music] we got the deck wrapped into that little recess section looks phenomenal I'm so excited the fact that it actually all leveled across now this is going to be the second hardest part here uh we need to get some clean cuts we need to get our miter to fit in so what I'm going to do is I'm going to do it in two steps I'm going to first cut this miter here it'll allow for me to expose the the wood down below and then we'll kind of try to templ it out a good clean track cut to get everything off to get a nice Perfect Fit I don't anticipate this going well at [Music] all so this section I couldn't get the saw through cuz it was bumping against the post here so I'm going to have to freehand it uh fortunately I have a line here so it shouldn't be too bad so so far we only have one problem it's a good m it's a good Gap decent line the problem is that we need another reinforcement piece right here cuz to support this little last section is a little bit of flex I don't like that while at the same time
