How to build a composting toilet, What is a tobacco barn? R.I.P. Eyor the Pig

What happens here

Josh presents an old tobacco barn, estimated to be from the early 1900s or late 1800s. He highlights that the logs are 'hand-hewn' (hand-cut and flattened). He describes its original purpose for drying tobacco by starting a fire in the back. He shares plans to convert the barn into a 'cool cabin' for guests, serving as a farm bed and breakfast, to diversify farm income. He invites viewers to subscribe to follow the renovation process. He briefly enters the dark barn to show the internal 'pier poles' used for hanging tobacco, which he plans to use for a loft in the cabin.

Goal: Showcase an old tobacco barn and outline plans to convert it into a guest cabin.

funeral for poor fella all right we're going to talk about the tobacco barn guys this is our tobacco barn the barn was built probably in the early 1900's late 1800s the logs on here were hand hewn which means there were hand cut they were hand chopped and flattened on each side and basically this building was what was used for years and years to dry tobacco inside this building there are poles that run this way and that's what they used to hang the tobacco on to dry traditionally they would start a fire in the bottom back side of this building warm up the building and dry the tobacco before they take it to market so that's what this building is is a building that was used probably I'm going to say from 1910 all the way through to probably the 1970s to dry tobacco and that's the way tobacco was dried in the south I want to walk you in here I don't know how good the lighting is in here but I'm going to take you in here and show you the pier poles and that's what those poles are called pier poles basically those pier poles are still in they're still intact the roof is still intact everything still looks good we're going to convert this into a cool cabin someday and we'll have a place to have guests come and stay so part of our farm plan is to have several cabins throughout the farm where folks can come and stay a little farm bed-and-breakfast nowadays it's hard to make money on a farm so we're going to add a little element of bed-and-breakfast farm stay to our farm so the folks can come and get a taste of the country life if they want to taste of it or just get some peace and quiet come out and relax and watch the deer pretty awesome so let's take you in the tobacco bar and show you what it's all about the tobacco barn is pretty old guys and the door is raggedy and about to fall apart run a little system here take your block down nears inside the tobacco bar so inside here I've got some old straw and you can see right up through here I've got some stuff stored in here but you can see the old pier poles in there and I'm not sure if you can see them very good so here's a pier Pole that we cut out so that we could walk in here because I'm 65 and I couldn't walk and here's another pier Pole right here and basically these are what I'm using for supports to hold things up in this tobacco barn here's another pier Pole right here when we go to build our cabin we'll use those as a support for the second story on our cabin for the lot good I got junk in here everywhere…
