How to build a composting toilet, What is a tobacco barn? R.I.P. Eyor the Pig

What happens here

Josh then presents his homemade composting toilet system. He explains that he built it based on ideas from hiking trails in Washington State. The system consists of a simple wooden stand with a toilet seat, under which a bucket containing sawdust and lime is placed. Users add a scoop of the sawdust/lime mixture after each use (specifically for solid waste) to aid decomposition and manage odor. He demonstrates the simplicity and functionality of the design, noting that toilet paper is also added to the composting material.

Goal: Showcase a DIY composting toilet for outdoor or temporary use.

so here's our composting toilet system basically I got the idea from hiking at Ross Lake in Washington State we did a big man hike with a bunch of guys up there and they had these neat composting toilets which were similar to this so I pretty much took the idea and built my own composting toilet here on the farm in case we need something like this in the future and we needed it when we were building everything here before we had a home so let me show you a little bit about it I'll tell you a little bit about it will kind of walk around it okay guys don't expect this composting toilet to blow your mind with awesome intelligent stuff this is nothing special this is only a stand with a hole dug down here with a toilet seat that I placed on here it's comfortable it's almost like the convertible out how basically we keep a bucket right here we're not using it anymore so our bucket is turned upside down but we put a bucket with sawdust and lime in it you can get lime at any store like I think you can get lime at Lowe's Home Depot Walmart wherever same type of line that you put on your lawn or your garden we use powdered lime and mix it with fertilizer every time you take poopy we throw a little scoopy of lime and fertilizer and basically we just use a coffee cup so we had a coffee cup sitting out here every time you use this composting toilet you don't have to do it when you make urine just when you make the poopie we'll put lime and followed us down in there to help decompose all the matter that we put in there and that's toilet paper too so we only use toilet paper in this so that we're not polluting the land with a bunch of paper basically the toilet paper gets covered up with the sawdust and it all breaks down this thing hasn't probably been used in about six months but when it did get used it was heavily used there were seven guys up here using this thing two or three times a day and actually one guy got sick and used it all day long that's a shout out to you lift whew got myself off track there anyway composting toilet basically I put four posts in the ground all the way around here made almost a square area I have a foot pad for your feet to sit on a deck for your but to sit on and if you need magazines you can put magazines here I don't recommend magazines so sit down on a composting toilet poop drops in and I'll show you the backside where it goes and how it all works the cool thing about the county that we live in here in North Carolina is that you're…
