Calculating and Cutting Beam Length

What happens here

Measure the required length of the beam by measuring up from the post base to the marked beam height, subtracting the actual height of the beam material itself. Then, use a circular saw to precisely cut the beam lumber to this calculated length.

Goal: Accurately cut the beam to the required length for proper height.
